Bridle joints, also referred to as a T-bridle joint provide structural strength and offer a unique look on frames and corners. This makes bridle joints ideal for chairs and bench construction, as well as any time you need a solid 90 degree joint. However, bridle joints can be tricky to master for beginners but having the right tool can certainly make it a lot easier. Whilst there are many ways of cutting a bridle joint, using a multi-tool with the SMART 32mm Japanese Tooth blade can make this a very quick and easy joint to master.

Although jigs can make complex woodworking tasks easier, a lot of people don’t enjoy building them due to the extra time and effort it involves.
This is where the Japanese Tooth blade really comes into its own. By equipping your multi-tool with this blade you’ll instantly turn your tool into a powerful, cost effective handheld saw which will achieve the job in half the time.
1. Identify the waste
Pencil in the waste areas on the two pieces of wood that will be joined together. The segments you will be removing on the first piece will be the opposite on the joining piece.
2. Attach the blade
When you’re ready to use the multi-tool, attach the Japanese Tooth blade to your multi-tool.
3. Make the cut
Once you have secured the wood to your workbench, begin removing the waste areas with the multi-tool.
4. Assemble the joint
Now that you have created the bridle joint simply join them together. Depending on the project, glue may be required when assembling for extra joint strength.
